We have always loved the insane brights from Anzula. Olga uses them to their magical max by mixing these neon shades with delicate neutrals in this new hat pattern!

Piper from Quince&Co is here!

Quince&Co has done it again! Staying true to Quince&Co's mission to make yarns from American fibers in American mills they have found an angora goat farm to source their fiber from out of Texas.

Piper is their newest yarn which is almost lace weight bringing you this beautiful palette of 50% texas super kid mohair and 50% texas superfine merino. This mohair is soft and subtle giving you a dreamy halo.

April Rhodes: Arizona has arrived!

Beloved designer April Rhodes' first fabric line has arrived: Arizona. It is simply stunning! Arizona is inspired by April's love for the Southwest and tribal design. Growing up in the Midwest helped create her wanderlust for the Southwest. Surrounding herself with photos and dreams of traveling there, she developed her own modern take on the colors and beauty, and this fabric line was destined to happen!

Arizona has a stunning soft, current color palette and an incredible modern take on the Southwest's unique style and flair.

This garment friendly collection is not only offered in Art Gallery's silky pima cottons--it also comes in a voile! And KNITS!! We couldn't ask for more! All of us here at Fancy Tiger have projects lined up to make out of Arizona. Don't worry, we ordered several bolts of everything so we all can have enough!

Dandelion: Another Killer Yarn by Madelinetosh!

We are delighted to pick up Madelinetosh's new yarn line, Dandelion. We can always count on Madelinetosh for their beautifully hand dyed yarns.

 Dandelion is a single ply blend of 90% superwash merino wool and 10% fine linen offering 325 yards per skein. With similar characteristics to Tosh light, this yarn brings you a uniquely soft linen addition!

We couldn't be more excited to bring to you this charming fingering weight yarn.  It has arrived just in time as Dandelion is the perfect yarn for light-weight summer time sweaters. Time to get crackin'!

New Patterns: By Hand London

By Hand London is an independent sewing pattern label out of London run by three fabulous women, Charlotte, Elisalex and Victoria. They launched just over a year ago and are producing beautiful sewing patterns.

Being surrounded by stylish women offers these ladies a constant inspiration for new designs. Creating patterns influenced by, and named after the women they admire, they create charming patterns to cater to individual style. We are so happy to stock these patterns with a modern twist on classic designs.

Hand Dyed Sock Yarn by Hedgehog Fibres!

The beautiful hand dyed sock yarn by Hedgehog Fibres has arrived! Hedgehog Fibres is an independent artisan fibre dyeing studio located in Cork, Ireland. This smooth blend of 90% merino and 10% nylon creates a charming lustrous finish to your piece, whether it be as simple as stockinette or something more complex like lace.

These wonderful skeins are all unique to themselves since they are randomly dyed to prevent striping or pooling, leaving you with this perfectly variegated yarn!

Japanese Selvedge Denim

Japanese Selvedge Denim

Denim plays a huge part in all of our wardrobes. We love seeing a wide range of it come through on bolts here at Fancy Tiger. The latest trend is Selvedge Denim. You may have heard the term Selvage denim or rather "Selvedge" denim before. The term comes from "self-edge" which reflects the edge of the denim and its clean finish. We currently have two beautiful bolts in stock!

The demand for production of denim in the mid to late 1900's forced mills to retire their looms and upgrade to more modern machinery for a faster more efficient production. The vintage looms have made a come back world wide with the production of Selvedge Denim. During the weaving process, the cross-thread is one continuous thread that goes back and forth, rather than using individual threads for each cross weave. This produces a clean edge that will not unravel and is used as the garments outside seam. 

Taking denim to a new level, Japan is the leader in selvedge denim production. Unlike modern looms, the vintage looms produce variations and many imperfections in the weave while making a more durable fabric. These characteristics are often what makes selvedge denim so desirable. Shuttle looms create a more narrow fabric and generally produce fabric that is only 32 inches wide. Quality denim is dyed using indigo loop dyeing machines, which are also rare. The deep blue color and the unique fade in the fabric over time, is due to the loop dyeing method. These characteristics are proof of its authenticity and gives you confidence in the quality of the product.

25 Bolts of the New Lotta Jansdotter!

Lotta Jansdotter's highly anticipated fourth collection has arrived at Fancy Tiger. Technically, this is two collections ! The first is Mormor, which is a fun vibrant print collection featuring her ever loved flower, leaves and organic prints. She has added some new colors to her pallet and we couldn't be more pleased. Check out that amazing eggplant purple! 

Sylvia, is the second collection and is her first release of an all black and white collection. We currently carry four of the nine designs from Sylvia. These fabrics are easily combined with the colorful prints from Mormor for ultimate adorableness.

This entire collection would make for the most beautiful quilt... More than a few of us here are scheming our next project out of it! 

Japanese Fabric Overload!

You all know that we have a soft spot in our hearts here at Fancy Tiger Crafts for Japanese fabric. We have received so many amazing collections lately we couldn't help but share them with you! 

First up we have Muddy Works. This is a collection by husband and wife team Tomotake. These beautiful simple geometric designs are printed on double gauze, quilted double gauze, cotton-linen blend, and cotton sheeting. With such a range of textures and prints this collection is perfect for all your sewing needs! 

We couldn't resist the jungle-themed magic of the Fujiyoshi Brothers. This fabric is a heavy cotton oxford print. Their dynamic vivid eye for color produces stunning work. Tigers!

Studio Cooca  is a collection that are original drawings by people with disabilities that have been transformed into fabric! They are earning an artist commission through their imagination with this medium. We are very excited to support this project. 

Last but not least, Echino, oh boy! In true Echino style they have done it again with bright polychromatic animal themed prints and large scale repeats. Etsuko Furuya, the woman behind Echino, continues to steal our attention with every collection released. I mean can you ever have enough bright, fun, bold animal prints?! We think not! Also, Lemurs!

Osprey: Aran Alert!

We have been on the hunt to bring you another true aran weight yarn and Osprey by Quince & Co couldn't be a more perfect fit! Osprey is a luscious 3 ply aran weight yarn spun from fluffy wool fleece. Its relaxed twist makes for beautiful stitch definition especially with textured pieces, like cables.   

If you are looking for inspiration on what to knit with Osprey, Knitbot Essentials is full of charming patterns. There is talk of the Trail Jacket being made soon here at Fancy Tiger!

Merchant & Mills

Merchant & Mills is a British haberdasher that makes beautiful sewing patterns, tools and more. We are pleased to welcome their products to our line-up at Fancy Tiger Crafts. Merchant and Mills patterns are really beautiful traditional garments. The detail in the instructions, pattern design, even the packaging makes for a wonderful presentation. Their focus is on classic, simple designs. You will find few fastenings and no unnecessary difficulty while working these patterns.

The Camber Set is a simple dress with tapered A-line silhouette and fitted sleeves for an easy-wear classic. This pattern provides two versions, a dress or t-shirt. 

The Dress Shirt is inspired by "Grandpa's shirt" and is a lightweight, versatile dress. This is a loose fitting comfortable dress for all your casual needs. 

The Top #64 is inspired by the fisherman's top with a little feminine flare to it. This top works well with fabrics in varying weight - do I see a heavy wool jumper in your future?

The Trapeze Dress is Merchant and Mills signature dress pattern. With a flattering fit, you can't go wrong with this staple!

And Hearty Good Wishes To You!

What perfect timing, Hearty Good Wishes has arrived! Designer Janet Clare out of England has teamed up with Moda for her first fabric collection inspired by the coast in winter. This collection is based on her original mono-prints and drawings from her book Hearty Good Wishes: Coastal Quilts. We couldn't be more pleased with it, just look at those adorable prints! 

Moda makes quilting with these treasures easy as pie! We are fully stocked with charm packs, mini charms and fat quarters with the full 30 print collection. A quilt with these would be such a delight and would be sure to keep your rosy cheeks warm!
