New Fabrics Galore!
Bushels of exciting fabrics are arriving! So much new and inspiring things to sew with--we can't even handle it!
Sarah Watts' Timber & Leaf collection is a fantastic menagerie of forest friends. Caitlin has already whipped up pillowcases for her bed from the fawn in birch print and Melissa has just started a foxy dress as well!
Alexander Henry's Mecca Modern fabrics are bright and retro and so adorable!
Aneela Hoey's sweet as pie Posy collection features darling bunnies and friendly chickens and little girls who love to read.
We also have Posy charm packs and mini-charms!
Denyse Schmidt's Shelburne Falls fabrics are here and, once again, Denyse has created a stunning, vintage inspired collection with prints perfect for patchwork and garments. This collection would make a beautiful pyramid quilt!
We have all sorts of precuts in Shelburne Falls for patchwork fun. Charm packs and layer cakes and jelly rolls and fat quarters...
Jaime and I will be attending Quiltcon this month and are thrilled to be taking a class with Denyse herself! You can bet we are already working on some new garments made from Shelburne Falls to wear to class. Stay tuned to see what we learn and make while attending workshops later this month!

New Fabric Collections from Japan are Here!
Echino + Nani Iro + Melody Miller + Heather Ross = Yay!
We finally unpacked it all and can't take the magic of our newest fabrics!
Melody Miller's Ruby Star sheeting is here! These stunning prints on lightweight linen/cotton are large scale and make super fantastic bags and skirts and curtains and more. Below, see each of the fabrics with the whole print from selvedge to selvedge. They are 62" wide!
We've been anticipating and planning for the new Echino line since we got a peak at quilt market. We've got a major crush on Etsuko Furuya. Those animals in fancy frames? They're destined to be sewn up into hot bags and skirts.
Naomi Ito's newest Nani Iro fabrics are pretty dang dreamy. Printed on a soft double gauze, they'll be great for dresses and blouses.
Heather Ross's newest line, Nursery Versery, has cute storybook characters for little ones, with adorable illustrations of the itsy-bitsy spider, little piggies and mice.
Plus, we have even more super-cute Japanese prints for all your adorable to the max projects!
Happy sewing!

Ladies Fancywork Society Works Fancy Magic!
We at Fancy Tiger Crafts are big fans of the Ladies Fancywork Society. This street art crew of crafty ladies has been tagging the streets of Denver with colorful yarn-bombs since 2007. You may know them from their amazing ball and chain tag of Denver's Big Blue Bear, their crocheted garden down by Millennium Bridge and the tube socks addition to the Convention Center Dancing Statues. These ladies are quick with the hook and we are delighted to have two LFS pieces currently on display in the shop!
In anticipation of our new space we asked the Ladies to work their magic on a deer form with several skeins of neon pink Manos Del Uruguay. We couldn't have been more thrilled with what they did--going above and beyond by constructing an 8 foot set of antlers. Amazing!
This magical guy is on display overlooking our community table. He'd love it if you came by to say hello!
We hit the jackpot when we caught wind of about a million crochet granny squares that LFS had recently used for an installation. We helped them rework the squares into a really cool cape for our resident deer, Bucky Junior, who is now on display in our front window!
Come by soon if you'd like to see Bucky Junior's colorful cape in person. He will be on display through the end of the March.
Thanks LFS! Keep on blowing our minds with your mad crochet skills!

Better Know A Crafter: Maggie Underhill
We were so excited to see Maggie bring in this amazing quilt. It is so cute, featuring woodland creatures, faux bois fabric, acorns and a fabulous color combination. I am inspired to try out this Denyse Schmidt pattern myself! Rumor has it she made it as a special surprise for a visit from her in-laws. So sweet!
What inspires you to craft?
I am in real estate and need a creative outlet! I love craft and design blogs. I also cross stitch and spray paint anything that will stand still.
Tell us about the quilt you've made.
It is a full quilt from Denyse Schmidt called "Any Way You Slice It".

How did you learn to quilt?
My momma taught me to quilt 3 years ago. I also took the Sewing Skills Series here at Fancy Tiger Crafts!
What is your favorite animal?
Puppies...of course!
Thanks Maggie! Happy quilting!

Quilt Market Report (Part II): Is the quilt world ready for Jay McCarroll?
You may know Jay McCarroll - he is the winner of the first season of Project Runway and has been taking the fashion world (and Bravo TV) by storm ever since. He debuted his new collection of quilting cottons for Westminster fibers at the Quilt Market. We are totally excited about his fabrics (which will be here in March), but I'm not sure the quilt world is ready for him. Our Westminster rep referred to him as "er, Jay Smith?" when showing us the line, and when Jay won an award for best new booth, he was announced as "Jay Caroline". Hopefully everyone will learn his name because his fabrics are super adorable. Jay was super friendly and we can't wait to get his fabrics in!

This is a picture of Jay's inspiration for his collection, which is titled "Woodland Wonders". We love it. One bunny lost his ear in transport. Sad bunny.
