We ♥ Folk Fibers

We have a bit of a craft crush on Maura Grace Ambrose, the awesome and adorable lady behind Folk Fibers. Maura makes beautiful quilts and pillows using naturally dyed fabrics. They are all hand-quilted. She hand dyes her own fabrics, mostly from plants she gathers near her home in Austin. Maura uses a lot of traditional quilt square patterns and often will enlarge them, giving her quilts a modern feel despite her very prairie aesthetic. Her quilts have a timeless quality and they are beautiful and inspiring.

When in Austin last week for QuiltCon, we were fortunate enough to be able to visit Maura's home and studio. She and her partner, Chap, opened their home to guests and even cooked up the best brisket of all time. We will let these photos work their magic on you...
