Better Know A Crafter: Morgan Ward

Morgan is a super adorable and crafty girl. She is a regular at the After School Stitch Club and has been helping with our Kids Summer Camps this year. Watch out--I think she may be a future crafting superstar.

Morgan Ward

1) Tell us a little about yourself.
I sew and row (crew). I'm also in high school. I like to search the web for craft ideas. I like to experiment with sewing and other crafts. I sew, needle felt, sculpt, photograph and tie-dye.

2) Tell us about your crafty project.
I made this little pig and Mr. Potbelly from old socks. It's a great way to reuse old clothing. I used instructions from a book called Stray Sock Sewing. I used old socks and needles and thread.

3) How did you learn your craft?
I learned to sew with Christina at the Fancy Tiger. I also learned from a lot of books.

4) What is your favorite animal?
Yak!

Thanks Morgan! Happy crafting!

Wool Felt by the Yard!

I love photo shoots that involve making tea!

We just received an order of felt by the yard--perfect for larger sewn felt projects. We immediately had to make ourselves the cute squirrel tea cozy on the front of the Zakka Sewing book. It only took about 20 minutes to make (once we successfully enlarged the pattern on our cranky old copy machine.) And, my, does it ever keep your tea nice and cozy!

Check out some of the many lovely colors we have in. There is no limit to the softie making potential!

Abby, Our Cutest Dog Friend

We recently made a cute dog portrait of our cutest dog friend, Abby, who works at Composition.
Our little Abby was an experiment - a hand sewn softie that we needle felted "fur" onto. We hope Abby likes her new friend!
