Come One, Come All, Check Out Our Aranami-Along!

We are all snuggled up over here at Fancy Tiger Crafts with our new Aranami shawls! Thanks to our amazing customers who picked this pattern for our most recent KAL. Bonus: we finished just in the nick of time for snowy Denver city!

The Aranami Shawl pattern by Olgajazzy calls for 5 colors which aid to the beautiful ombré effect many of these shawls have. We couldn't wait to get our hands on some Brooklyn Tweed Loft for this project. Some of the ladies opted to use a variety of different yarns, just look at those colors!  It is such a perfect pattern for a project on the go and for using up small amounts of fingering weight yarn. Each motif is worked one at a time and is quite easy to remember.

Here are the folks who made this KAL such a success!

Free Pattern! Tina's Sweet Adeline Crochet Shawl

Some of you may know Tina as one of our most prolific sewists at Fancy Tiger, but she's pretty adept with a hook as well!

As soon as we opened the box of our new Freia yarns, Tina took a skein home and immediately whipped up her own pattern for a lacy crochet shawl, worked up in Ombre Sport.

We love this simple little shawl, and how the crisp lace pattern works with the slow, ombre gradation of the Freia yarn.

Tina's Sweet Adeline shawl is simple enough for a beginning crocheter, and works up quick as can be. Download the free pattern by clicking on the image below!

Magical to the Max: Fibrofibers' Nightfall Worsted is Here!

We picked up the Nightfall Hand-dyed Sock Yarn last fall, and our first shipment sold in just weeks. We are delighted to have it back in stock, as well as the heavier weight Worsted version of this magical ombre beauty.

Nightfall Worsted  |  Nightfall Sock

We've already seen some amazing projects made from this yarn. Jessie Dawson, a customer with very awesome crochet skills, made a neon green crochet doily from Nightfall. Talk about hot.

Cat Stebbins, a Fancy Tiger instructor who works crafty magic with Tunisian crochet, created this beautiful Tunisian cowl for a class.

There are lots of colors of Nightfall in stock right now, but come by soon, as they are sure to find new homes quickly!

FibroFibers Nightfall Sock Yarn: Ombre Goodness!

FibroFiber's Nightfall yarn is here and it's aaaamazing!

Nightfall is a superwash merino sock yarn--each skein is hand-dyed by Jen Hintz of FibroFibers in North Carolina. Jen uses a special process that creates one long gradient of color throughout the skein, beginning with a vibrant color that gradually gradates to a deep almost-black.

We love this ombre yarn and think it is fantastic for stunning shawls! Check out Jen's free Simple Shawl for Fancy Yarns pattern to see how lovely Nightfall works up. We also love the popular Hitchhiker shawl in Nightfall!

This yarn also supports a good cause. A portion of the sales of this yarn from FibroFibers is donated to the National Fibromyalgia Research Association.

Thanks Jen for making such an amazing yarn!
