Knit-along alert!
Jaime and I fell in love with Carol Feller's Maenad
shawl when she recently came to the store for a trunk show. This lace
edged shawl is extra long, perfect for wrapping a couple times around
your pretty neck, or just draping over the shoulders.
We would love for you to join us in our Maenad KAL! We will be casting on next Tuesday, June 26th at Craft Night.
Come into the shop for your supplies and receive 15% off your yarns with the purchase of the Maenad pattern.
And here is a sneak peak at the yarns we chose for our shawls:
Jaime chose two colors of Madelinetosh Light--Cosmos and
Lowlands--for her Maenad. The depth of color in this yarn makes us
swoon.
I
picked up two earthy hues of Sebastian by Anzula at their trunk show
last night! I'll be knitting my Maenad in the colors Clay and Shiitake.
Sebastian has a wonderful nubby, silky texture thanks to a blend of
Seacell and Merino fibers. You can look forward to this pretty yarn
being available in the store in August!
See you soon!

Amber's First Quilt!
I just finished my very first quilt! Hooray!
Our darling shop dog, Branwyn, and I took a trip to the park to celebrate.

There are so many cute little prints that fly through Fancy Tiger--I can't resist them all, so I often get a quarter yard of this and of that. I decided I had to start to quilt with my little fabric treasures. For my first quilt I chose a lot of cute little Japanese prints in soft greens, teals and grays and some brighter prints in tomato reds. I sewed them up into a simple log cabin patchwork quilt top.

For the back I pieced together five strips of fabric in bright corals. The bold color makes me happy!

I'm kind-of-so-excited about quilting now. I've already started on my next one!
If you'd like to learn to quilt Fancy Tiger Crafts is offering several quilting classes, taught by our awesome instructor, Jessica. She's a quilting genius!

Amber is Totally Handcrafted!
I came in to work today totally handcrafted from head to knee!
Handknit sweater? Check.
A-line skirt? Check.

I made my sweater from one of my favorite yarns, Peace Fleece Worsted Tweed, in the color Grass Roots. My a-line skirt is a Japanese print of scary/cute toys.
You, too, can sport this über-crafty look with our My Favorite Sweater class and A-line Skirt class!
