QuiltCon Sew-a-Thon: Miz Mozelle

Sadly, we will miss Tula Pink at QuiltCon. I cut this fabric almost a year ago from her Nightshade collection and our Quiltcon Sew-a-Thon finally gave me the push to finish my dress! I made the awesome Miz Mozelle dress by Jamie Christina. I love this pattern!

The first time I made it, it was a bit big, so this time I went down to a size 4 and it is perfect.

I opted to make a contrasting collar and made my own bias tape out of the same solid green. Pulling this olive-y green from the print makes it just a little weird, which I am into. I am on the lookout for a moon or star shaped button to replace this one....anyone?

Magical things are bound to happen when I'm wearing my new Nightshade dress!

Better Know A Crafter: Lindsay Akiyama

Lindsay is ready for wintery weather--she just made one of the most adorable jackets we've ever seen!

Lindsay Akiyama

Tell us about your amazing coat!
I used fabric from Tula Pink's Nightshade collection. I made a pattern to fit the fabric. I was inspired by the pirate girls and wanted to showcase them.

What makes you want to be so crafty?
I have an overdeveloped sense of style, so I like to create things that suit me. I sew, paint and make jewelry.

How did you learn to sew?
My mom made me the most beautiful dresses for every occasion as I grew up. I've been watching her my whole life and have modeled myself after her.

What is your favorite animal?
Octopus.

Thanks Lindsay! Happy sewing!
