The construction of this quilt is quick, due to large scale patchwork and an efficient method of making its flying geese blocks. It is simple enough for new quilters and is a great introduction to matching your points, as the large blocks are pretty forgiving.
queen/king size quilt |
The pattern would look fantastic in the new Lotta Jansdotter collection (that we just got in!), or Carolyn Friedlander's Botanics fabrics.
twin size |
Three quilt sizes--throw, twin and queen/king--are included in the pattern. The instructions thoroughly detail the construction of the quilt top, the quilt back and how to make a "front-to-back" binding, a method of binding popular in the 1930's
You can get the Four Winds Quilt pattern now in our Etsy shop and print copies will be available here in the shop next week.
Happy quilting and stay cozy!
I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been dreaming about an all-chambray quilt for a while, I think this could look really good with chambray for the triangles. I might need to give that a try.
Oh my goodness, Sara, that would be so beautiful! I would love to see it if you do it! --amber
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI went to your Etsy shop to purchase the instant download and it is sold. :( Can you let me know when this glitch is fixed? I am dreaming of giant geese. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteDarcy - it's back in stock now, thanks for letting us know!
ReplyDeleteHi there, I am a new quilter who purchased your quilting pattern. I am really excited about it, but I am having a hard time figuring out just how I should cut the squares. When I look at the instructions for the throw, I take the diagram in part 1 to mean that I cut 4 blocks x 16.75" square "solid" fabric, 12 blocks of 8 7/8" square "patterned" and the other 12 smaller blocks are solid....correct? I keep thinking I understand it but then when I read the piecing instructions I get really confused again. Any help would be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteIs unavailable on Etsy right now.
ReplyDeleteI want to buy it! Please see if you can get the glitch fixed again. Thx.
ReplyDeleteI made one but the geese are several inches smaller than yours. Can I ask you the width of your geese?
ReplyDeleteHi, I have gone to the etsy shop to purchase this lovely pattern and it says it is unavailable. Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Vickie
I want to Etsy to purchase this pattern but it is all sold out. Can you let me know when it's back in stock?
ReplyDeleteI've tried buying this twice. There seems to be an error again as it won't process my order.
